Amelie Koning - Amelie Silks

Bloomfield, Ontario

Amelie was born in Indonesia, and achieved her Fine Arts degree at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, The Netherlands. She came to Canada in 1960. She paints directly on silk with special French dyes. When dry, the silk is steamed to allow the dyes to set permanently. A multi-talented lady, Amelie works in oil and watercolour, lithography and etching as well.
 
Care instructions: Handwash in lukewarm water with pure soap (preferably colourless) and finish with fabric softener in the last rinse. Avoid use of bleach.
