Atkinson’s constant attention to form, shape, mass and a dislike for repetition has caused him to explore beyond the common and simple forms attributed to most woodworking. His current work makes use of bent wood and marquetry, which he folds around whatever he is making.

Atkinson lives and works in Guelph, a vibrant community of over 100,000 people situated in the heart of southern Ontario, just 100km west of Toronto. Guelph supports a vibrant craft, art and music scene.
