Quebec City, Quebec, Canada
At first a naturalist in the nature reserve of Cape Tourmente on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, Tardif became a sculptor. His passion for wild birds, their natural elegance and gracious movement became the inspiration for his creativity. By using steam, he forms walnut, Canadian maple, ash, cherry and elm, giving life to birds in movement. The choice of wood adds touches that are sometimes voluptuous and sometimes solemn.
Tardiff is from Quebec City, the beautiful and charming capital of the province of Quebec. Quebec City and its surrounding region is largely Francophone, and one can truly feel the European influence while in the city.
