Sauer’s innovations in surface design emerge from her passion for texture and colour. She produces hand-painted Shibori scarves and shawls, which showcase an exceptional gift for detail and artistic expression. Sauer has received the Niche Award for Excellence in both 2002 and in 2007.

Sauer lives and works in Vancouver, a Pacific coastal city and major seaport located in British Columbia. It is also known as the Hollywood North, being the third-largest film production centre in North America.
