Wilson works with a porcelain clay body. She single fires her non-enamel ware to cone 7 temperatures with a glaze that is easy to incise through, to give a very thin exact line. The works with leadless coloured enamels are fired a second time at a lower temperature and are food safe. The works with metallic gold tones are fired a third time to ensure the lustre is stable and suitable for use. She considers a potter’s task to be to find a unity between form and surface.
Wilson is from Millbrook, a small town with more than 45 designated historic buildings — more per capita than any other Ontario town.
