Joyce has hiked, trekked, rafted, kayaked, ridden and wandered about in at least 25 countries. Whether it be the amazing colours, smells, sounds or shapes of a fascinating place such as Marrakech, or those of the back roads of Ontario, or whether it be the June wildflowers of the Rockies or the sea off the coast of Vancouver Island, she is sure that what she have seen has deeply influenced her sense of colour and the use of colour in her work. She uses her own hand-dyed fabric to make art quilts. Joyce loves the work, the focus it demands, and the creative challenges each piece offers.
