Any wooden objects used regularly in the kitchen should be oiled occasionally with mineral oil or bees wax. It is not safe to use cooking or vegetable oils because they go rancid. Wash your objects with regular dish soap and water, let dry, apply oil and wipe any access oil off. Avoid soaking in water and putting them in dishwashers.
