Tina Roeder

Kingston, Ontario

Tina worked as a biologist, had two children and then discovered jewellery making as a creative outlet. She works primarily in sterling silver and often accents with 14K gold, because she loves how gold imparts a warmth and richness to the silver. She particularly enjoys doing custom work and creating wearable mementos from little scraps of paper she receives. She has made jewellery from children’s drawings that have been stuck on the fridge for months and from sentiments scribbled on a napkin. She enjoys working with interesting script or handwriting and creating a simple design from a single character. Graceful designs can result from elements of music notation or even small segments of an old map.
