Ulrieke Benner

Benner hand makes all of the fabric she uses in her finished work. She uses fine merino wool for her hats and purses, and for her scarves and clothing, she prefers to felt the wool into silk using a wet-rolling technique. The rich colours she uses produce striking creations that are distinctive and unique. Her studio is located in the beautiful country setting of St. Mary Lake.

Benner is from Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, which is located in the Southern Gulf Islands. It is nestled up against the east side of Vancouver Island.
